Dental Insurance Plans

Dental Insurance Cave Creek, AZ

Dental procedures can often be painful, both physically and on your finances. Even the most basic dental work can be expensive. But it can cost you even more in the long run if you put off having the dental work completed due to the cost. Dental insurance can help pay for these expenses to make sure you get the care that you need. But it can be complicated determining the type and amount of Dental insurance that you need. In many ways, Dental insurance is similar to basic health insurance. There are in-network and out-of-network providers, deductibles, and co-pays. How much you’re willing to pay out-of-pocket and how much flexibility you want when choosing a provider will determine which type of policy is right for you.

The most common types of Dental insurance include the following:

  • Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) policies are typically an affordable option. It requires that you choose a provider within the network unless you’re comfortable paying more with an out-of-network dentist. There are usually annual deductibles that must be paid before the insurance kicks in. Some policies have predetermined co-pays for different procedures. But most DPPO policies fully cover basic dental care and preventative maintenance. If you don’t mind choosing an in-network provider then this can be a cost-effective Dental insurance plan.
  • Dental Health Maintenance Organization (DHMO) policies are very similar to DPPO policies. Premiums are typically affordable and you must choose a dentist from the network. The difference is that you aren’t able to choose an out-of-network provider with this plan. And you must choose a primary care provider who will then refer you if specialist work is necessary. Also, there are usually fewer providers to choose from within a DHMO compared to a DPPO. But if affordable premiums are more important to you than provider choice, then a DHMO policy is a solid option for your dental insurance needs.
  • Dental Indemnity is another popular type of insurance plan. These policies provide the most flexibility because there isn’t a network of dentists to choose from. And you typically don’t need a referral before seeing a specialist. But this choice comes at a cost. Deductibles and co-pays tend to be higher than DPPO and DHMO. And there will probably be some out-of-pocket costs for even routine procedures. But if the flexibility of choosing a provider is of utmost importance to you, then you might be best suited for a Dental Indemnity policy.

Ok, here we are, Dental & Vision!

Super simple to review and to see the value. $100/single premium per year, $149 for a couple premium per year. This email on its face may seem a bit lengthy, but the 3-minute investment it may take you to read is well worth it. From budget to freedoms, to being stress-free in affordability for those oral concerns knowing that good oral health is absolutely tied to overall health. Hence, your 3-to-5-minute read, to save unspoken amounts of money for your annual oral and vision care is a very good return on investment.
Today is a new day….go get your care without it being a budget breaker. There are no age qualifiers to join either. This is so incredibly consumer-driven that it can be viewed as a gift. I see it that way personally for myself and my family. From me to you:
The smart play when you look at plans is the Preferred Plan which has the Carrington and Aetna Dental Access Networks combined. You can manipulate the search criteria on the left side as you will see and hit search within the 1st link below.
Coming into the plan, and researching the massive National provider networks, just know when acquiring services, you would say, I have the Carrington 500 Network discount plan, or the Aetna Dental Access Network discount plan, and then show your ID card or pull it up on the 1Dental Mobile App.
 * The 1st link is the Dental Network Providers Look-Up (Many Dentists & Dental Offices!) When clicking on this link, give it about 15 – 30 seconds to load up all the many National individual dentists and/or offices. Then by clicking on the “search” window after populating the zip code and name/or office name, this is best practice. If you don’t find a dentist just by the last name, take the extra step and look up the office/practice name. If you are unsure of the dentist or the office name, then you can rely strictly on the zip-code to search and look for the address when the search results populate in a few seconds after the advanced software searches for your results.

Note: Again, I use this plan for myself and my family. I can provide factual experiences I have had with this plan. This is me just passing on a good thing and I have FULL confidence here. I am not a fan at all of dental/vision plans in general…this one here is superior if I was asked from most every office accepting this plan, and then of course the pricing for services and also $100 a year ( about $8 a month if averaged out ) for an individual, and only $149 a year for a couple….not each….total! Dental offices will not recognize 1Dental or the Preferred Plan as a plan name. They will only recognize the brand names of Careington Care500 or Aetna Dental Access.
***Good for you hanging with me in this far! You are your own best advocate when it comes to options such as what we are laying out here. In closing this portion of my email to you for proper guidance, this is a discount plan and follows a National PPO Network. Best of both worlds if you follow what I am saying here. Anybody that is uncertain can call me and I will explain the difference between a Dental PPO plan vs a Dental Discount Plan. The PPO is expensive, restrictive and we never get the value of which we pay into it. Example, PPO plan: $50 a month in plan premiums….they give you $1500 per year in a dental allowance….doing math, you are only receiving $900 a year in true benefits after you subtract your pricey monthly premiums, and you still have to keep paying your $50 a month in plan premium to stay on the plan even after you get 1 crown which exhausted your entire yearly allowance, at which point, you are now just a “cash-customer” totally exposed financially. Excuse me!!? No thank you. Geez…If you sneeze in a dental office it’s $500! I don’t and never have seen the PPO as a consumer-friendly plan of protection when it comes to Dental….like, at all. This plan is unlimited in coverages as far as yearly allowance, follows a National PPO network without the high costs and provider restrictions, plus it includes vision.
Of course, I am here for questions. If you wish to move forward immediately, simply click on the “JOIN” icon, top right on any page. A simple 2-minute application and you’re all set.  You will also have a 1Dental mobile app in the Google Play store or with your Apple devices, which is very convenient.
